Temporary Bliss by B.J Harvey

"

Wow. Too many hot men in this book!

Mac has been through a bad relationship and has vowed to never let history repeat itself.

And so she has not 1 but 3 "friends with benefits".

But then she meets Daniel Winters...

This man is seriously swoon worthy, but I'm not suppose to swoon

Their relationship grew with each date and I loved the flirting and teasing.

Until then, I'll have to rename my shower head Daniel and have some fun with him

The writing was fun to read and this is one of those books that I would re-read.

I need to tell him about the other penises in my life>

One small thing that always annoys me is heroines who are constantly running away. I will store this small negative away because everything else about the book was perfect!

I cannot wait for Kate's book!!! And maybe more Zander, Sean and Noah."

Anywhere with you by Kaylee Ryan

"

This was a sickeningly sweet NA romance so if that's not your thing, this book is not for you.

Allison's only family is her Gran but she persuades Allison to live her life and go to college.

Life is a giant canvas, Allie, and you should throw as much paint on it as you can

She meets Liam, her roommates brother and it was insta love.

I'm not a big fan on insta love but in this case they didn't jump straight in and declare their love for one another and so I read on...

I am overwhelmed with what I can only describe as lust... she's beautiful

There was a lot of 'I love you' and 'he's different' around Allison and the 'spark' they have for each other. Which I felt was a bit repetitive at times.

However, for a debut this was a great attempt but I feel maybe it was aimed at a younger audience (I'm 28).

A good book to pick up if you like minimal drama and a feel good romance.

Buried Secrets by Emme Rollins

"Freebie 26th August 2013

This was a quick short murder/suspense type book. Unfortunately I found myself skimming and just wanting to get to the end to find out how Dusty's twin brother was murdered.

My reaction to what happened...

Then there was Shane, her brothers best friend who was hiding something from Dusty.

Sometimes black is white. Sometimes white is black. Sometimes we're really not who we appear to be at all.

The romance between the two of them was nice but maybe this genre just wasn't for me.

If I was to compare this book to the Author's other book, Dear Rockstar, the other book would win hands down x

Fighting Fate by Linda Kage

"
Paige is trying to live the life her dead brother would have lived...

But fate has other plans...

In doing so she comes face to face to her brothers murderer...

My thoughts

3 things I don't really like reading about
1. Weak heroine
2. H/h declaring their love for one another in a matter of days
3. Silly misunderstandings once the H/h get together

And I am happy to say that this book has none of the above.

What I loved the most was the writing, it was easy to get into, the story kept moving without being too descriptive.

I loved that it took ages for them to get together. Some of their conversations were classic.

Paige: Logan, I cant believe I almost took your eye out.
Logan: Its okay. Really. I have another

I would have liked to read more of their happy ending but noticing this is a series, I hope the next book is about a different character, preferably Mariah aka hooker.

I would recommend this if you like angst college romance x

Keeping Her by Cora Carmack

"
Garrick and Bliss...

In London...

and the awkward meet the parents...

My thoughts

This was nice, almost like an extended epilogue. Loved reading more about Garrick and Bliss. Garrick being his sweet self.

The only thing I care about right now in this entire house is you

There really wasn't much more to add to their story except a little doubt as to their future. Worth a read if you've read the first book.

Maybe Baby Lite by Andrea Smith

"

Tylar, a college student works at the stables for the Sinclair family over the summer...

Where she meets Trey Sinclair...

Insta love...

Psycho stalker...

Mystery of Tylar's past...

Family drama...

It has it all...

My thoughts

I stopped reading the original mainly because there was just too many irrelevant detail that dragged on.

However, second time round, I found this book generally what I like in a book, great characters, HEA/HFN, and of course the great sex.

And boy did the storyline got a bit tangled up towards the end.

This should be on Jerry Springer

Heroines have known to annoy me, but I found Tylar quite likeable.

As for Trey, he was lovely, protective, controlling, insecure and jumped to conclusions a few times. This is where I need a shelf for I-wish-I-could-knock-HIM-on-the-head.

My love is given freely, Tylar. I've surrendered my heart to you; I haven't, however relinquished my masculinity in the process

I love how this ended...Happy but leaving some issues open. I think I will definitely catch up with Trey and Tylar in the sequel.

Price of a Kiss by Linda Kage

"

Reese almost gets killed her by psycho ex...

She moves halfway across the country to attend college...

And meets none other than the Hotness, Mason...

One slight problem...

He's a gigolo...

My thoughts

Not many books make me feel a range of emotions. There was the suspense of Reece's psycho ex but at the same time it was light and fun at times.

Mason:Now who's the perv?
Reese: I'll accept that award. Want to hear my thank you speech?

And if that doesn't complicate things, I wanted to hug the life out of Mason, bitch slap a few characters and to top it all off there was a load of sexual tension going on.

I can't. I'm tainted

My heart stopped a couple times at the end for my poor Mason. Did my heart hurt for him!!!

I was getting really sick of reading a college book with a weak heroine but Reese was a kiss ass character and I love her strength and personality.

I loved it!!!

Stay with me by Elyssa Patrick

"Hailey left her famous life behind to go to college...

It was insta love with Caleb...

Something's holding her back...

A secret that may destroy their relationship...

My thoughts

I actually thought I would end up wanting to slap Hailey but she wasn'ttoo bad. She was holding back a big secret and the reveal just made me roll my eyes.

I quite liked Caleb but the two of them as a couple was just... alright.

"You are my every heartbeat, and I love you"

There was some really nicely written sex scenes which is always a plus.

If your looking for a sweet drama-free college romance with some nice sex scenes then this would be the book.

Feral sins by Suzanne Wright

"
Taryn makes a deal with Trey...

To mate with him...

Instead of an arranged mating...

Trey needs to mate a powerful female to help with his alliance...

They both could benefit from the mating...

It was only suppose to be short term...

My thoughts

This was my first ever shifter book that I've read and at first I was a little confused by all the terms like latent and imprint but I soon got over it.

Taryn was fab and I loved her sarcastic comebacks especially with Trey's Grandma.

How about we play fetch with a twist, Greta- I'll throw the ball for you, but you just don't come back

Trey was the Alpha of Alphas. What started off as an arrangement soon turned into something much more.

"No fake cocks. This" a thrust of his fingers- "is mine."

My only problem was I was curious about this ménage scene, but apparently my version doesn't have it. Oh wells!

Overall I really liked this book, had loads of hot sex and it kept you on your toes regarding the traitor. Great book x
"

Ruin by Rachel van Dyken

"Girl meets hot guy at college...

Girl a bit depressed...

Guy has some secret...

You get the picture...

My thoughts

My thoughts with this book are a bit scattered. So the positives, LOVE the banter between Wes and Kiersten. I could highlight a load of their dialogues.

Combine super hearing with stalking and you're a regular psycho

Loved Wes, he is your typical cocky Hero, very charming and swoon-worthy.

I want you, but it has to be right. And right now? It's too new. Get it?

More than once his words left me with a fat grin.

Thing is, this subject matter always makes me feel a tad uncomfortable but that's just me.

This was very predictable and maybe it was missing some saucy scenes but overall I really enjoyed it.

A great book if you like college romance with great banter and a swoon-worthy Hero x"

Off Course by Sawyer Bennett

"Renner goes to Ireland to get away from things...

She meets lead singer from Over The Edge, Cillian...

Cillian wants Renner...

And what he wants, he always gets...

My thoughts

I'm loving this series. Great characters, hot chemistry, some angst and fab writing.

At first Renner was a bit hesitate considering who Cillian was, but she got her head round it pretty soon.

You didn't honestly think you could hide from me, did you?

And then there is Cillian. Hmmm. Love getting his POV. He's as delicious as Nix.

I'm trying to make it clear that I want to fuck you into oblivion. Second, there is no other woman that I'm interested in. Clear enough for you?”

I felt like there was a few unresolved issues in the end with Mauve and the band.

With only one more in the series, I hope ALL the old characters will appear in Flynn's book. This is a series not to be missed.

Into the Deep by Samantha Young

"Charley moves abroad to study for the year...

And bumps into the one and only first love of her life, Jake...

What made them part on bad terms?

Will she be able to forgive him?

My thoughts

The story moves from present to past finding out how their relationship was built and what went wrong.

And I know you deserve better too, but I'm just too selfish when it comes to you

When they first started dating they were both 16, but there was no silly misunderstandings (can't stand!) or cheating.

This was very angsty and my heart was hurting for the couple. The sex scenes were explosive, their banter was spot on and I loved all the side characters.

This book couldn't have been more perfect!

I ought to swing this car around and kill him

As well as their story there is another major side storyline with Beck and Claud (the best friends of the main characters) and I really hope they get their HEA too.

This book ended on a HFN for Charley and Jake and I really need the next book now.

The lack of sleep for this second chance romance was well worth it x

Happily Ever Addendum by Sadie Grubor

"The final part to the trilogy...

...for Aiden and Lillian.

My thoughts

I'm glad I finally got closure on this couple.

Honestly I couldn't quite remember what happened at the end I the last book. But it did start to come back to me.

There was a lot of ILY for half the book, then the second half some drama and twists. Overall a nice trilogy x

"

Present Perfect by Alison Bailey

"Noah and Amanda are best friends ...

Problem is...

She doesn't think she's worthy of him...

My thoughts

Jeez... I need to firstly vent some frustration.

How I wanted to either shake or slap some serious sense into Amanda aka Tweet!!! She hit my top 3 most annoying heroine EVER!!! And my list is LONGGGG!!! It got to a point where I was screaming to Noah, "give up, just GIVE UP mate!!!"

And then there was the constant use of the word "perfect", yes I understand she don't think she's perfect, I don't need to be reminded on every other page.

After all that, this book was very well written. The story did not once bore me and it was so addictive I didn't want to put it down.

Noah was delicious and for him alone I would have gave a 5 star rating.

I'll always take care of you and make sure you always have candy, Tweet

There was a long build up, then there was a touchy subject thrown in near the end and I would have rather the story not take this direction.

But in the end a great YA book just a couple things that grated on me."

Freeing Asia by E. M. Abel

"Growing up around guys, Asia is quite a tomboy...

She surfs...

She smokes pot...

She has a makeover...

And meets rich guy, Jay...

Just when things are going well...

First love, Marcus is back...

My thoughts

You might read the blurb and think 'oh no love triangle,' but this book was surprisingly very sweet and there was NO cheating involved.

After seeing you at your dad's house that night, there was no way I was getting hard for anyone else.

Asia was a great heroine, but there was a point where I thought maybe neither guys are worthy of her. By the halfway mark you will guarantee know who has Asia's heart.

If this is what it means to be free, then lock me up and throw away the key.

One negative and I'm not one to usually complain about sex scenes, but I did feel there was a bit much of it.

It's books like this the reason that I love to read romance. The ending left a fat grin on my face x"

Thief by Tarryn Fisher

"Now Caleb's POV...

And the conclusion...

Takes us back to how it began with Olivia...

And what happened with Leah...

My thoughts

Just when I thought the story was going a particular direction, it does a complete u-turn.

I admit I didn't like Caleb in The Opportunist, but wow was he swoon worthy here!!!

What annoyed me was why why why?!! Why didn't Caleb fight harder for Olivia from the very beginning?

I loved their banter and I really wished there was more of these moments.

Olivia:"you're making me feel awkward"
Caleb:"you're making me hard"

Olivia I didn't like so much in The Opportunists, but here when she was faced with tough choices, I thought she made the right decision.

After everything they been through, I loved how it ended and some may say its bittersweet but I thought it was absolutely perfect. Great fast paced trilogy x
"

Dirty Red by Tarryn Fisher

"
Leah's POV...

We find out what happens now that she has the man she wanted...

And why and how she became the woman she is today...

My thoughts

I don't think I've ever read such an amazing villain POV. This was nothing like I've read before. You can actually feel how in love and obsessed she is was Caleb. Everything in her mind went to him.

“I have done a number of things to keep this man. I have lied and cheated. I have been sexy and meek, fierce and vulnerable. I have been everything but myself.”

When finding out about her past and her family dynamics, it gave me a better understanding of why she is who she is today. And I pity her but I was kind of hoping by the end she would grow up a bit and change her ways.

Guess not. I saw the last revelation coming from the very first chapter.

I'm eager to read Caleb's POV now, how can you not knowing how this one ended?!

Shooting Scars by Karina Halle

"Sequel to Sins and Needles...

...continue on Ellie, Javier and Camden's story.

I know that's a bit vague...

but it's for the best.

My thoughts

WOW theres just not enough stars for this book!!! There was a great build up. I literally had my hand over my mouth gasping for half the book.

Since reading the first two books I have been 50/50 but after reading this book I am 100% Team Javier. yea he made some mistakes but who doesn't?!

"Camden is your past... I am your future"

I still have a funny feeling that it is Camden that Ellie is suppose to be with but you can never know with Karina.

The wheels in my head are spinning overtime to guess the outcome of this trilogy. I have no clue what is coming up and how this will possible end in the finale.

"I told you that you broke me when you left"

I love Karina's EiT series, and now this trilogy, she has now fully cemented her place in my top 3 favourite authors. please please please I need the last book ASAP.

A trilogy not to be missed!!!

Beauty from Surrender by Georgia Cates

"
We was left with a cliffy in the last book...

Now back to Jack and Laurelyn...

My thoughts

Hmm... I been waiting to get closure for Jack and Laurelyn for awhile now. The book was nice but I felt like the book was full of sex scenes and it got a bit repetitive.

Where do I even begin with Jack? It felt like he was like a different person here as compared to book 1. He came across quite needy.

“She is my everything and I'm never letting her get away again"

Unlike book 1 this one ended nicely. I do like this couple I just hope the next book is not going to be full of them just having sex.
"

Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover

"Continuing on from Slammed...

But now told from Will's POV...

The first part of the book we see Lake question their relationship...

My thoughts

It was nice to catch up with the old gang, the slams, Will and Lake. Some parts in the book had me laughing out loud.

There was also some new characters introduced, some I loved and others not so much.

This was a lovely ending. I do love it when books end like this.

It makes all the heartbreak and angst in the book worth while and leaves me feeling like a pile of mush.

So you keep your ocean,
I’ll take the lake.”

I could quote the whole book, it wasthat good. I loved this as much as the first!!!

Second Chance Boyfriend by Monica Murphy

"
Drew and Fable...

Title: second chance boyfriend...

I think it speaks for itself...

My thoughts

I love it when I don't need to re-read a book to remember what happens. Just by the first few page my memory is refreshed on what happened in the last book.

Having read the first book we are already familiar with Drew and Fable's family issues. This book sees them both deal with some of these issues and I love that they have each other to support.

“Drew Callahan is my absolute weakness. Like a drug I can't get enough of. He's my addiction and if I'm honest with myself, I'm not looking to kick that particular habit anytime soon.”

At least we don't have a cliffy!!! I was left very satisfied with the ending.

Although I'd like an epilogue, I know we can't yet with Colin and Jen's book next. One character deserved what she got and am really glad with that part of the story. An enjoyable read.
"

This Girl by Colleen Hoover

"YES it is Slammed from Will's POV...

My thoughts

Wow it was like reading slammed for the first time. Being already familiar with the story, there were familiar scenes as well as new ones added in.

I would have liked more present day storyline but I guess these two been through enough, I'm sure Colleen didn't want to torture them any more.

“You want to know my sweet?" I ask her.
She nods.
I kiss her on the forehead. "You. Always you.”

Knowing how the first two books ended I had no doubt this will be a nice happy ever after and I was not disappointed.

If I didn't love Will enough before in Slammed and Point of Retreat, I'm definitely 100% in love with him now. Such a loveable character.

It wasn't until I got to the end did I realise that I missed the whole gang (especially the two brothers) and I would have liked to read more about them.

Loved it.

Four Summers by Nyrae Dawn

"A story about Charlotte and Nate...

Falling in love...

And only seeing each other...

Over the span of four summers...

My thoughts

I really liked these two. I thought the connection they had was nicely written and their dialogue together was believable. It did feel as realistic as a relationship can be in a fictional book.

It was quite abrupt with what happened with Charlottes mum and sister and I would have liked more closure with what happened to them.

A lovely ending and what I was expecting. I just wished there was an epilogue that could see into the future a bit.

“We’ve grown and changed, screwed up, but at the beginning of each summer, we found each other again. Or maybe we never really lost each other.”

The issue with Brandon left a bit unsolved. But overall I really like these first love YA books."

Wicked Beat by Olivia Cunning

"Eric's book...

We all know who he is...

Drummer for the Sinners...

But now we meet...

Rebekah...

Who has just recently come out of a long term relationship

And now going on tour with the sinners...

My thoughts

What I loved about the previous 3 sinner books was that there was a good mix of sex and storyline. With Eric's book I felt like the sex scenes outweighed the plot.

But The scenes where all the sinners are together were FAB, and had me chuckling away.

What stood out for me the most was a certain scene where we got Treys POV. hmmm. Trey was definitely the star of the book for me.

"Eric finally fucked a girl properly," Trey shouted. "Woot! Woot!"

Eric was a sweetie and my heart broke for him at one point during the book.

Something this wonderful had to end badly. And when it did, he knew it would destroy him

Not as great as the previous 3 but I Love Olivia Cunnings book and they are always an instant click for me. Looking forward to Dare's book :)"

Out of Play by Jolene Perry

"Bishop, a drug addict, almost overdosed...

Penny has a lot going on...

As well as looking after her grandfather who has Alzheimer's, her mums hardly around and she's crushing on her best friend...

They meet in Alaska where Bishop is trying to recover...

My thoughts

Being in a band, Bishop is a drug addict and we find this out from the very beginning. I was actually glad with the way things went in this book.

"It's hard when so many people expect so much."

The relationship between Bishop and Penny is a slow building one from flirty friendship to romance.

I love it when two characters slowly get to know each other but I felt like their story at the end was a bit rushed and maybe there could have been more to the story.

A great YA book x

Keep me Still by Caisey Quinn

"Layla witnessed her parents being shot when she was thirteen...

Now in her senior year...

She still suffers seizures...

Enter new boy Landen...

Hmm...

My thoughts

Wow I wasn't expecting this. Boy was I surprised. Not once did I feel the story drag on. If anything I think it should have been longer.

Let me Leave takes place in senior year and Keep me Still is when they are both in college. I found both books enjoyable and there was a few gasp out loud moments.

Great writing, great story telling and great characters.

"Seriously, Ginger, your timing is impeccable. Can I get you a collar with bells or something, so I can hear you coming next time?"

When I read the first few words of 'the sneak peek in Hold us Close', I had a feeling what was going to happen and BINGO!!!

Come on Caisey, get this book out!!!"

When you're ready by J.L Berg

"
Clare lost her husband three years ago...

Now a single mother...

Logan has come out of a failed marriage...

They meet in an emergency room...

This is their second chance at love...

My thoughts

We have two characters who are a bit lost and this is their second chance at love. I thought it was quite a sweet story. We see them meet and fall in love and I love that about a romance book.

It was all sweet and fine until the last 10%... In my mind I thought 'no no no this can't be happening'. My heart was hurting, I had tears in my eyes and I was just hoping it would turn out alright in the end.

“I’ll wait. For however long it takes, Clare. I’m yours.”

I would recommend this if you're looking for a sweet romance with a dash of steam, humour and angst. Enjoy x

Finding Hart by Ella Fox

"
We was left with a cliffy in the last book...

Now we are reunited with Spencer, Delilah, Dillon and Dominque...

To the conclusion of the Hart series...

The title says it all...

Finding Hart...

My thoughts

Although I remember the cliffy from the last book, I'm so glad there was a lot of recapping at the beginning as I kinda forgot how everyone was related.

Spencer has always been my favourite so it was lovely getting his POV again.

I can't get ahold of my life...um, I mean my wife

Everything tied up nicely in the end and I am sad to say goodbye to the Hart series. The series started off more saucier in the beginning books by the last couple books there was more drama and revelations going on.

Looking forward to the Saint Renegades series :)

"

On Every Street by Karina Halle

"Ellie is out to seek revenge...

On a drug lord who scarred her as a child...

She gets close to one of his men...

But...

She finds herself falling in love with him...

My thoughts

I love Javier. There was something about him I couldn't put my finger on.

I'm not holding my breath though because I have a funny feeling its Camden she will end up with and I don't have any problems with that because I do like Camden too.

A short novella that sets the scene for Sins and Needles. We go back to how Ellie and Javier met, how they fell in love and what went wrong.

“I once told you to leave and not to love me,” he cried out, muffled. “I’m taking all of that back. Not because I deserve it or because I’m worthy of your love. But because I need it like the air I breathe. I need you. I need you to believe in me. I need your love to make me feel like I can be redeemed.”

How can you not love Javier once you've read that? Cannot wait for the next book!!!"

Sins and Needles by Karina Halle

"
Ellie is a con artist but plans to give it up...

She returns to her home town...

And reunites with Camden, her high school friend, now a successful tattoo artist ...

She sees the potential is scamming him...

My thoughts

Wow this book was a breath of fresh air and nothing like anything I've read before.

Ellie being the daughter of con artists has had a troubled time growing up. I felt deeply sorry for her and each flashback holds a significance to the story.

“Beautiful, sad, wounded, and lost,” he continued. “A freak, a work of art, a liar, and a lover.”

And then theres Camden, being the high school freak, he also had his fair share of anguish growing up. You can't help but love them both.

"I hate you, Ellie Watt," he whispered, lips coming closer to mine, "because I still love you after all these years.”

I'm still not sure whether I'm team Camden or team Javier. I think I kinda like them both. Cannot wait to get my hands on the second book in the trilogy x

Troubles and Treats by Tara Sivec

"We met Drew and Jenny in the previous two books...

Now they are married with 2 children...

Something is missing in their sex lives...

This is their story...

My thoughts:

These characters are over the top crazybut I loved it!!!

I loved Drew and Jenny from the first book and this one did not disappoint in getting to know them better. They doubt each other and I just wish they communicate with each other.

Some parts had me laughing so hard...

"Liz. LOOK AT MY VAGINA!"

"Jenny, I want you to look down at your husband's penis and tell it you love it"

One crazy book from sex swings, to getting maced, marriage counselling, grandma's clams and not to forget the adorable little kids (yea right!).

Overall I loved this series and it couldn't have ended more perfectly!!!"

Rowen has been sent to work at her mum's friend's ranch over the summer in exchange for art school...

She is a troubled young adult with an uncaring mother...

And then she meets Jesse on the ranch...

There is an instant connection...

Can Jesse help Rowen find herself?

My thoughts

I love cowboys!!! I really enjoyed this once I got into it. I felt there wasn't much going on in terms of the storyline but I found myself highlighting most of Jesse's dialogues. My chin dropped to the floor at about 75% because I think that was a first!!!

It was hard to warm to Rowen because she does have a negative outlook on herself and on life.

“Did you know that every time a country song is played, a cute little puppy keels over dead?”

A sweet story of a young adult lost and trying to find herself. I have a feeling I know where the sequel is heading but I really hope Garth gets his own story :)

I think Daniel is the perfect Book Boyfriend, he was a little bit damaged (which I love), a womaniser (swoon) very controlling (yes, please) and just plain HOT!!! (Yummy)

“Fuck yeah. Bite me, gorgeous. Mark up my whole body. I want everyone to know who I belong to. Who I get hard for. Just you, Story. Just you.”

I really liked Story, she was more realistic than Daniel. It was insta love and coming out of a long term relationship, she was a bit cautious.

Overall:

Loved how it ended!!! A hot short and steamy read!!!

Lost Boy by Tara Brown

"The plot:

We had her POV in The Lonely...

Now we get Eli's...

How he helps her get rid of the lonely...

How he became the lost boy he is today...

My thoughts:

I remember finishing The Lonely and thinking

I really needed to get into Eli's head and Eli was everything I thought he be...

"I'm convinced text talk will be the end of civilization"

Haha...

We find out the reasons for this actions, his stalkerish-tendencies, as well as his feelings for her. We also got to know more about Jane and Stuart.

I thought this was a great companion novel and a must read if you've read The Lonely."
